I would suggest completing research on some of the documentaries on this site. This will show that you are looking at a number of different types of documentaries, as well as researching very modern ones.

Wednesday 22nd June Cover work

Please complete the following research during today’s lesson. This research then needs to be added to your blog.

  1. Research Nick Broomfield generally
    1. Create a PowerPoint presentation based on his background and history.
    2. Consider the kinds of documentaries he makes and why.
    3. Visit Youtube to hear speeches and talks given by him regarding the filming and planning of some of his work.
    4. Look on my blog (http://missdonovansmedia.blogspot.com/) to find general information about him
    5. Has he received any awards and what for?
    6. Who are his influences?
    7. Include your PowerPoint and the Youtube clips onto your blog, explaining what you have learnt about him clearly.

  1. Now choose one of Nick Broomfield’s documentaries from these:
    1. Aileen Wuornos: The Making of a Serial Killer
    2. Biggie and Tupac
    3. Kurt and Courtney
You must again research one of these and include your research on your blog under the following sub-headings:
·        General information / synopsis
·        Comments made by Nick Broomfield about the documentary
·        Comments made by critics / reviews
·        What style of documentary it is
·        Any other interesting information

All this information and research must be completed in today’s lesson and added to your blog for homework.

Remember to keep adding research and ideas to your blog. Look on my blog to find a good blog created by OCR – this shows you some great examples of student blogs and websites which you can again use in your own blog.

Also, if you have not already emailed me your blog address, please do so now! (ldonovan@heathside.surrey.sch.uk)

Research

Remember to constantly research different documentarians and add your research to your blog. This will show the examiners that you have an excellent knowledge of different styles and forms of doumentary. Try and watch as many as you can, complete research on them and then add the research to your blog, explaining which type/form of documentary it is and how you know.
